History of Islam in Guatemala
The Republic of Guatemala gained its independence from Spain in 1821. It has an area of 108,889 sq km.
The first Muslims came from Palestine. As shown in Table 5.6.4, estimates for the Muslim population increased from twenty in 1914, to 200 in 1973, to 1,000 or 0.01% in 1994. And according to the World Values Survey (WVS), the percentage of Muslims increased to 0.08% in 2019.
Thus, assuming that the percentage of Muslims will increase by 0.01 of a percentage point per decade; then the Muslim population is expected to reach 30,000 or 0.1% by 2050 and 50,000 or 0.2% by 2100.
